Lynn Van, D.D.S.

Dr. Lynn Van was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and has resided in Florida since 1994.  She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Florida in 2000. After her undergraduate studies, Dr. Van pursued a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University in Indianapolis, graduating in 2004.

During both terms of her studies, Dr. Van was recognized for her academic achievements via the Dean’s List.  During and at the completion of her clinical training, Dr. Van held a clinical ranking of #1, out of 100 clinicians. Dr. Van graduated with an overall academic ranking of 13 out of 100, earning several awards for clinical excellence at the completion of her studies. Upon graduation, Dr. Van was recognized by the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry for her work in cosmetic dentistry.  Prior to the start of her dental career, Dr. Van was a licensed cosmetologist for 12 years.  Dr. Van is also a proud National Coca-Cola Scholar.

Aside from general dentistry and cosmetology, Dr. Van has also studied in the area of wound healing.  Dr. Van devoted 4 years of clinical research to the Wound Institute at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL.  While at Shand’s hospital, Dr. Van also conducted clinical research relating to children with cleft palates.  Dr. Van strives to incorporate both her academic and esthetics-oriented background into her dentistry. She continues to study extensively in all aspects of dentistry, as she believes cutting-edge, up-to-date knowledge, is her best tool for offering patients optimal care.

Dr. Van is the eldest of 8 children in her family. Raised by a set of parents who believe hard work and a genuine heart are the keys to lifelong success, Dr. Van strives to accomplish just so.  At the completion of dental school in 2004, Dr. Van returned home to Central Florida to start her family.  Dr. Van, her husband and 4 boys, proudly call Clermont home.

Dr. Hang Van, D.M.D

Dr. Hang Van was born in Kansas where she resided until the age of one. Since, Dr. Van has also been a resident of Louisiana and Hawaii before settling in Florida.

Dr. Van found her niche for arts and science at young age. She achieved her first recognition at the age of 6, taking 1st place, at the Hawaii State Flower painting contest. Naturally, her hobbies in arts led her to become a trained cosmetologist by the age of 16. Simultaneously, Dr. Van explored her knack for science as a research apprentice at the NASA space center. Later, she completed a mentorship for research in Pathology at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL.

Earning a Bachelors in Arts and Science at the University of Florida, Dr. Van majored in Microbiology and Cell Science with a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Van continued her studies at University of Florida College of Dentistry, achieving her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D). Her training encompasses the diagnoses and treatment of the oral cavity.

Through various volunteer programs, Dr. Hang Van receives satisfaction in helping others. Most recently, Dr. Hang Van participated in a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, providing free dental care to the most underserved areas. Dr. Van is grateful for having the opportunity to treat patients, combining the things she enjoys most, arts and science with a gentle touch.

Dr. Kim Van, D.M.D.

Dr. Kim Van was born in Louisiana, but was raised in Florida since the age of seven. She advanced her dental knowledge base with the aim to practice in the prevention and treatment of oral ailments through education, research, and community service. She began by earning her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida. She then furthered her education at the Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis where she received her Master’s of Science in Biology. Dr. Van then attended the University of Florida, College of Dentistry where she completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D. M. D.) degree.

Dr. Van was the head research assistant in Pain Research in the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Sciences at UF where she examined multiple factors predicting pain trajectory among patients undergoing thoracotomy for suspected lung cancer and patients undergoing oral surgery. During her dental education, she had the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to provide dental treatment to more than 200 patients in rural areas of Jamaica. She hopes to participate in another mission trip in the near future to provide dental care to those
with limited access to dental care.

During her spare time, Dr. Van enjoys playing with dogs and watersports such as fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, jet-skiing, and snorkeling. She finds hiking very thrilling, as her latest adventure was Angel’s Landing at the Zion National Park.

Dr. Van hopes to be an integral part of the health care team serving the Clermont area by providing kind and conservative dental care.
